Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) was originally designed to reduce the
psychotherapy process from months and years down to minutes and hours. From
there it was discovered that astonishing physical healings also occurred.
Symptoms faded for everything from Migraine Headaches to Cancer. Complete
details are given on the EFT website at The
World Center for EFT. It often works where nothing else will.

I discovered EFT quite by accident. My first introduction to tapping
on energy meridians actually came about through a teleseminar with Jack
Canfield as he discussed his new book The Success
Principles. He
spoke of people who are "psychologically reversed" and told of a
technique that involved tapping on the edge of your hand in response to this
reversal. I found this concept quite bizarre and decided to do a little
research. I finally ran across Gary Craig's page
(World Center for EFT) and was amazed at what
I found. I watched the video on EFT, then immediately downloaded the
free e-book explaining the technique in detail. The whole idea still
seemed a little too strange to me, so I put the material aside.
Not too long afterwards, I was perusing Bob Doyle's Wealth Beyond Reason
site, picking up free MP3 seminars to listen to on my evening walks.
Once again, I came across this strange tapping technique called
EFT. This particular discussion was called "The Dark Side of
The Law of Attraction" and Bob was being interviewed by Brad
Yates, C.Ht., an
EFT Practitioner out of California. With the information I had
already read on Gary Craig's site coupled with Brad Yates unique style of
tapping through issues, the light went on for me. I immediately started
working with EFT to help clear the blocks that were keeping me locked
into my current patterns.
MY NAME IS DENE - I TAP SEVERAL TIMES A DAY...
I must admit, I was a closet-tapper for some time! I didn't want my
husband or my family to know what I was doing, because I was sure they would
think I had finally lost my mind. I would put on my earphones and head
out the door, listening to Brad explain his method of EFT tapping, and I would
tap along as I walked through our neighborhood. I'm sure the neighbors
were watching through a crack in their mini-blinds, making sure their children
were not close to the road when I passed by tap-tap-tapping on the side of my
face and mumbling affirmations. Even so, I kept on.
DEPRESSED?
I get this way periodically - from childhood through my adult years I
would become teary-eyed at any subject (good or bad) and not have a clue why
it was happening. Normally, I would just remove myself from public view
until the state had passed. My family doctor had decided at one time
that I was clinically depressed and placed me on anti-depressants. They
seemed to do the trick, but I soon found that not only did the
"blue" moments go away, but so did the happy moments, the angry
moments, the loving moments... I was basically numb. The side effects
were also quite bothersome including insomnia, severe night sweats and weight
gain. When my husband and I decided to start our family, I asked the
doctor about side-effects. His answer was very clinical, and not
re-assuring. So with his help, but against his medical advice, I weaned myself
off of the meds. The high levels of emotions came back, but I
decided just to use my past coping method of isolation.
BREAKTHROUGH
I really didn't know what I was trying to clear, but Brad and Bob both
insisted that the listeners should tap to each session, even if they thought
it didn't apply to them. I soon realized that this was very good
advice. One day I found myself in a highly emotional state.
As usual, I didn't know what had triggered this 'depressed state' that my
doctor so long ago convinced me I would have forever without medication.
All I know is I was on the verge of tears. I stepped outside my door,
made a hard right down the driveway with my e-tapping MP3 playing. This
particular session was about "getting it right". I had tapped
on it many times before and felt nothing to be quite honest. But today
something was different. The emotional state was present - I wasn't just
trying to pull an emotional state up out of thin air to work on.. I was there
- in the moment - feeling the pain. As I tapped along with Brad, things
came to the fore-front of my mind that I had never felt or thought of
before. Tears streamed down my face as I tapped to his
words. When the session ended, I felt better. I finished my walk
and went home. Did I realize at that time what had just happened?
Not really. There was no fanfare or choir of angels singing "Hallelujah"
... no "Ding Dong the wicked witch is dead" ... nothing like
that. However, as the days and weeks went on I started to realize
that I was no longer "blue". I wasn't depressed. I
wasn't sad. Had the tapping cleared some buried grief that I was not
even aware of? I think it did. After 38 years of living with
this hidden oppression, I was free.
OUT OF THE CLOSET
With my new-found freedom, I would no longer be hiding what I had
learned. I told my husband about EFT. He gave me that skeptical
look, but listened with some curiosity. I taught my 7 year old son how
to tap. At first it was just a game, almost a joke in our house.
But then I saw him tapping on the way to school. I asked him what he was
tapping on and he said, "oh, just want to be ready to stay on Green
today." For those of you who don't know, elementary schools
sometimes use the stoplight method of discipline - Green is good, Yellow is a
warning, Red is - uh oh.. note to Mom and Dad. So tapping on Green
was a good thing.
I now proudly walk down my street, tapping along, clearing any blocks,
feeling refreshed. Yes the neighbors still stare, but I don't
care. I tell all my friends and co-workers about EFT and direct
them to various sites that I have found on the web. Any complaints about
illness, pain, anxiety, tiredness or depression are an open invitation to hear
about tapping.
If you find yourself battling against problems and pains in your life
today, I invite you to check out Gary Craig's site. He offers tons of
free information including a EFT
manual in PDF format, a newsletter and a wonderful online
video that gives a great overview of EFT and how it works. He also
has a library of videos for sale if you'd like to take your skills to the next
step.
Another great source is Brad
Yates'
website. He also provides quite a bit of free material and has an
entire library of downloadable eTappings to help guide you through sessions
for various topics including fear of flying, smoking cravings/unhealthy
choices, insomnia, fear of failure and many others. He also has an
online book called "The Key To Success". I
encourage you to check out these resources and start changing your
life.
Wouldn't you love to be drug free? Want to stop paying that shrink
year after year for limited (or no) results? This technique is truly
amazing. Research it for yourself - your life will be changed!
